We're back at the Swedish Meet Ball, hosted by Jim Lucht! This time we had a far larger showing of cars than last time. We hope you enjoy the quirky Swedish cars (and some not) photographed on such an occassion.
Look at these awesome and colorful classics! We have a 1960s 911 and an Opel GT! These two didn't stay, but what a sight.
It's in Faded Yellow OMG!
A clean stock example.
A true survivor.
Pure function over form, with plenty of personality. Just the way an old Volvo should be.
If you remember from our 2023 feature story, Stu Foster was in the process of restoring and rebuilding his free 1990 240 that he got from his wife's friend. He said he was going to throw a 16 valve engine head from a Volvo 740, and he delivered! This machine looks fantastic, especially with the mechanics exposed. Next up, is the turbo!
I got to experience the self leveling hydraulic suspension first hand, and let me tell you - there is nothing like this. It's amazing how this technology has not been adapted into another mass produced car. The ride quality and comfort is above all. The French were truly onto something here.
One of the most gorgeous estate cars ever made.
A beautifully restored example.
You may remember this icon from Volvos at the Farm 2023.
A gorgeous example. This is certainly one of the nicest PV-Series I've ever seen.
It's back! Sandy's '79 900 is one of my favorites, and I go into detail of why that is in its previous entry. I'm really happy to see it here at the Swedish Meet Ball!
Also seen at Saabs at Colt State Park. It's good to see this nice 900 again!
A beautiful example, with some surprises under the hood.
What a beautiful machine.
Truly one of the cleanest 740s I've ever seen. It includes the very rare 16 valve Volvo B204 engine, as seen in Stu's 240.
Featuring three 900s and a 1967 Sonett II.
My first time ever seeing one of these. For those that don't know, these weren't sold in the US, and were produced and sold in The Netherlands.
Jim's very own! Sadie does 80.
Very clever conversion!
1999 Saab 9-3 Viggen and a 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R. Pure Swede Speed.
